Just declare Allawi the winner and skip the pretense of "Iraq elections"

The upcoming "election" in Iraq already has a predetermined outcome. And since we can't guarantee the security of polling places, why don't we just cut through the pretense that the Iraqis are electing anybody and spare the lives of the people who actually turn out to vote.

But then again, I'm thinking that Bushco wants some Iraqi blood spilled as a means of "legitimizing" the newly "elected" puppet government.

And the Iraqi president will have a "special relationship" with Bush, in other words he will do whatever the government tells him to. But never mind that, the elections will be hailed as the fulfillment of Bush's glorious dream and played on all the cable networks for days.
