Have any of them admit to being wrong (Iraq)
Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 06:05 AM by hadrons
Has anyone read or heard of any writers who were pro-war admit now that Iraq has been a disaster for the U.S.? I know some are beyond help (Thomas Shillman for the Times Op-Ed for one,) but I'm thinking a few misguided chums have wised up and are big enough to admit it ... but then again we're talking about the corporate media

1. I've seen a few admit that the "intelligence" was wrong....
But not that they themselves were wrong for believing it.

2. Mark Bowdn
Mark Bowden in the Philadelphia Inquirer made a half hearted admission. His premise all along was WMD/disarmament and he wrote a column in May stating his doubts and feelings if there are no WMD, then the war was more about the neo-cons theroies of reshaping the Middle East. On the run up to war, he stated he would publicly call Bush a liar and himself a fool but I haven't seen that admission.

3. George Will kinda sorta
did about two months ago. He said if there aren't significant quantities of wmd found or something then the war wasn't justified.

4. blood from a distance
They cannot feel their guilt. Worse than the aplomb of poilots who never see their victims on the ground. Naturally they will avoid knowledge, self-knowledge, like the plague. No redemption.

5. of course not.
the craven war-cheerleaders persist in their bush-apologetics.

hell, they knew the truth beforehand, but their depraved blood lust wouldn't let them reveal their real motivations.

6. George Will and Pat Buchanan come to mind.
Tweety wasn't, then was, then wasn't... you never know with him. I know there are others, but it's early and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, or I'd go google it up.
