LIHOP is no longer just a remote possibility
After reading this amazing stroy from the Guardian . .

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/iraq/comment/0,12956,1036687,00.html

. . it now seems clear to me that the reason Cheney will not release the energy meeting transcripts is because at those meetings he probably told the heads of the energy companies that the US was purposely allowing (LIHOP) a terrorist event to happen to justify a strong US miltary presence in the ME and war with Afghanistan and Iraq (probably Syria and Iran as well).

He was giving them a heads up so they could move as quickly as possibly when the time came to establish the means to start pumping and shipping ME oil to the US.

As the former head of Halliburton he knew how much work they needed to do to get ready for this (their payoff for financing his election).

He probably had no idea the attack would be so successful or spectacular. But it is interesting that GWB took August off (at a time when the economy and his numbers were dropping like a rock) and then spent little time in DC after returning. Where was Cheney in August? Just curious.

Too bad our puppy press won't notice any dots here - even when they are spelled out and connected for them as in this Guardian article.

1. at this point it's not just about press
to suggest something like this means utter treason at the highest levels...a lot of the American public could NOT accept that members of our government could act so heinously.

Frankly, if it ever comes out that BushCo LIHOP, there will be a civil war.

25. That explains the US embassy retort:
"Mr Meacher's fantastic allegations - especially his assertion that the US government knowingly stood by while terrorists killed some 3,000 innocents in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia - would be monstrous, and monstrously offensive, if they came from someone serious or credible."

Ad Hominem. It seems the strategy is denial... they figure they can get away with it... even when cabinet ministers who "ARE" credible and who really "KNOW", but politely put together sources in the public domain... they figure if they destroy anyone who puts up LIHOP, it will protect them.

HA! They are going down, those criminal mass murdering paedophile perverts in the white house. They are too busy fucking children to give a fuck about the truth... and hope that they can get by with more rape while we are distracted by statements of hubris from their embassy.

Surely nazi germany issued similar rebukes for accusations of making war and being fucking evil.

Hmmmmm -- I would find it curious if he had actually been working.

That Ashcroft stopped flying commercially around July of 2001 due to "security alerts".

Those fucking bastards knew what was going to happen.

3. Excellent article in the Guardian
all the more astonishing in that the big picture of the "war on terroriism" and PNAC is spelled out in this
mainstream British paper. If I didn't know this was the Guardian I'd be more inclined to say it was
from Mike Ruppert! Those of us who believe they LIHOP now have a mainstream article we can hand out
to sceptics. I just emailed the link to my political list, including several Bush worshipping Repugs.
We should all do the same.

4. The dots have been connecting since 9/11 but the US press
ignores it with a passion...Its not just a wacky conspiracy theory, its facts and dates and behaviour..
amazingly, this article wont see the light of day in the mainstream US media, but a horrible lying movie on Showtime with Bush as some heroic cowboy will..
Wake me up when this nightmare is over.

5. Read the National Security Strategy--one of last September's surprises
I know this former MP sounds like he dresses in tin foil.

He really doesn't know anything other than when you set recent history alongside the NSS things make much sense in a very uncomfortable way.

17. That is a good point
I think it could be argued that they didn't think the attack would be quite so devastating.

They are always careful to mention the attacks as "spectacular".

I always picture Bush and his cronies, while hearing that four planes have been hijacked and that one has hit the WTC, sat back and said, "lets see where they are going with this"

Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 10:18 AM by liberalmuse
they did not suspect this within hours of the attacks? I mean, after the initial shock wore off and right after it was announced on the news bin Laden was responsible and the FBI just happened to find damning materials in a car parked in an airport parking lot that unraveled the plot? Have we really gotten any more information about what happened than we had 3 days after the attacks? No. It's the exact same story. Curious! The Bushies had no clue this sort of thing was going to happen, but within hours after the attacks, they were absolutely sure it was bin Laden because of our diligent intelligence investigations. They LIHOP--there's no doubt in my mind. You don't need a tinfoil hat for this one, just a brain.

12. My own ideas re: LIHOP . .
. . have varied. Sometimes I thought that LIHOP all made so much sense. Also, intuitively it was a no brainer.

At other times I was more skeptical. This article shows me that as usual, I should have trusted my instincts more than I did. These people are monsters and must be stopped - or the world is in for the next dark ages.

Historians in the future may note that the new dark ages began with the bogus election of 2000 when the nation that was the model for democracy in the world and the last hope for common humanity was brought under the control of the ever-present dark forces of evil.

Have you read "A Canticle for Liebowitz"? For some reason I am recalling this great (post-apocolyptic) novel that I have read a couple of times since the sixties. Perhaps it's time to pull it out again.

13. The intelligence agencies get it
I hate to say it, but this Guardian article supports the response I saw indirectly after 9/11, when agents where stumbling over each other to document their predicament in the foreign press. That was Palast's award winning scoop back then, but it didn't take digging - the outrage was genuine and directed toward the questionably legitimate regime.

Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 11:02 AM by Stephanie
Cheney spent that August in WYOMING, out of harm's way. An option not available to the thousands working in lower Manhattan, who received no warning and no protection from this admin.

Summer Spinning
To GOP, Vacation Boosted Bush Agenda; To Democrats, Voters See a Shirk Ethic
Aug 29

<snip>The White House had announced that Bush would stay at his 1,600-acre ranch in Crawford from Aug. 4 through Labor Day on Sept. 3, a 31-day stretch that would have broken a modern record for a presidential vacation, held by Richard M. Nixon for a 30-day trip to San Clemente, Calif., in 1969. News reports played up the record, and a Gallup Poll found that 55 percent of respondents thought Bush's vacation was too long.

The length of the trip revived old questions about Bush's work ethic, and the poll and the news coverage caused consternation in the White House. Aides said they had planned an ambitious schedule for Bush as long ago as late June, but reporters were not told about it, even after they landed here. The White House, suddenly defensive, took every opportunity to show Bush on the go and even created a "Western White House" logo for the briefing room at Crawford Elementary School. Bush revealed that his ranch had new video conferencing equipment for keeping in touch with his national security team.

A Working Vacation
Vice President Cheney plans to fish, travel during month-long valley sojourn.
By Angus M. Thuermer Jr.

Vice President Dick Cheney took time off from his month-long working vacation Monday to outline his plans for August in Jackson Hole and to reflect on "an amazing year."

Cheney, who will live at his Teton Pines home about six miles west of Jackson until Labor Day, defended his energy policy, supported a local decision to limit drilling around the Gros Ventre Wilderness, recalled a life of service in Washington and said his health problems are not affecting his ability to fish for trout on his favorite Western waters.

Ashcroft Flying High
WASHINGTON, July 26, 2001

(CBS) Fishing rod in hand, Attorney General John Ashcroft left on a weekend trip to Missouri Thursday afternoon aboard a chartered government jet, reports CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart.

In response to inquiries from CBS News over why Ashcroft was traveling exclusively by leased jet aircraft instead of commercial airlines, the Justice Department cited what it called a "threat assessment" by the FBI, and said Ashcroft has been advised to travel only by private jet for the remainder of his term.

"There was a threat assessment and there are guidelines. He is acting under the guidelines," an FBI spokesman said. Neither the FBI nor the Justice Department, however, would identify what the threat was, when it was detected or who made it.

23. ... and, where were the rest of the cabal?
during that time ... rumsfeld, rice, powell, card, rove, poppy and his evil twin Baker, Kissinger and Schlesinger, Wolfowitz and Perle et al?

the generally paparazzi tabloid media wasn't following them ... only sharks, some brush clearing (whatever that entailed), and Congressman Condit (who was with Cheney for an alibi) ...

someone saw the first plane hit the WTC

I hope for indictments too - it's the only way we can clear the rubbish blocking our destiny - it'll all depend on who we elect to replace the current appointees

the innocent people of Afghanistan didn't need to suffer
the innocent people of Iraq didn't need to suffer
the wrongfully imprisoned people don't need to suffer
we don't need the PATRIOT Act - a lengthy, detailed document which must have set a record for preparation

something is rotten in Denmark

21. Oh, yeah, proof would be great
But Bush has been carefully making sure that no proof of anything that he hsa ever said or done will see the light of day.

Not that its suspicious for him to do that.

Add to that they way he shafted and supressed the 9/11 comittee.

So, you are right. It will always be a conspiracy theory, because we will never see proof.
