There is this religious-right website (http://www.capalert.com) on the net that "analyzes" movies (i.e., picking out every little thing that they think is sacreligious, immmoral, etc.) and offers a review. Essentially, their purpose, it seems, is to say that this or that movie is immoral because it shows homosexuality or a woman in a towel.

Well, I found another page (http://www.geocities.com/screwconservatives) that takes all the information from their website and makes a NEW page, which serves as a guide to finding "a good, immmoral movie to watch tonight." I think that's just fabulous and ironic. Fabulous because it's useful if I want to find a good movie and ironic because it is using CAP's "research" for the exact opposite purpose of which it was intended.

I would recommend checking out. It's really cool.

5. It's funny how they'll bash movies for using God's name in vain, yet

they make nary a peep over every politician or sports figure that does the same damn thing. Norm Coleman, upon election in 2002,said he "THANKED GOD FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY" (page A17, Star Tribune, Wed Nov 5 Edition.)

Entertainment is one thing. Looking at real people is more important. CAP can go cap themselves in their butts.

Wonderfully entertaining!

One of my favorite movies of all time is Dogma, which I thought was brilliantly done. CAP hated it. Another brilliant movie was The Birdcage and CAP couldn't even sit through it.

I thought it was ironic that they liked Chicken Run very much, but took points off for "execution by axe" of a chicken. So what do you want to bet that real slaughterhouse conditions for the animals they consume daily is of no concern to them whatsoever?

Also noted that there is virtually no interest in social content or message. Just one example: The fact that the three "hockey punks" in Dogma who "murder" the old man near the beginning of the movie are in fact demons who are attempting to waylay God -- and they didn't actually murder him, but put him in the hospital.

Very interesting. The guy who uses CAP as a reverse directory reminds me of what my dad said he and his friends did as teens. They would go to the local Catholic church and read the published "banned" list -- then actively seek to read those books and see those movies.

Times sure haven't changed too much, have they?
