Yes, wanting fair elections is un-american and bad for the country. These people actually believe that even though Bush won, WE are the ones who used fraud...doesn't really make sense, does it? FYI I wasn't merely predicting the book, since I have the money to make it happen dickhead :-) And, since there is much artistic talent over here, it won't look like it was put together with Microsoft Word and will actually make money! Though I will admit since I have a well-paying job that demands much of my time, and PJ-Comix is a laid-off gun-massaging Rush listener, I might not have all the free time he does. ....and as a fairly new user, I wanted to test their assertions. Uh oh, I better find the links or you might get mad at me!

In my experience, DU is certainly more tolerant than FR, though I do believe some here are a bit sanctimonious. And, do you always need a "point"? I find it touching that people would get so upset over accusations about people who, quite frankly, would like to see all of us eradicated.

FYI an "accusation" would be more like - "Freeper XYZ advocates rape.." etc. Saying something like "Liberals are baby killers" falls under the same heading - and isn't that what Repukes are known for? Jeez, Ann Coulter wouldn't have a career if it weren't for those types of "accusations".

I don't think it's proper to stoop to the lower level of others. I think there are many people here on DU who want to make certain that accusations, assertions, or other negative comments actually have a basis in fact.

If "Repukes" are known for posting things with no basis in fact, or things that are inflammatory, that's exactly one more reason for us NOT to do it!

For some reason when I signed up at FR a few years ago, I was banned before I ever posted. They must have the entire ISP in my area blocked.

BTW, About 10 of those 100,000 members they claim belong to me, from signing up to see if I am still blocked.

I became a 'member' (that is to say, I first had posting privileges) at Free Republic back in 1996 -- before it even called itself "Free Republic.'

It was the "Whitewater Forum" back in those days, but they had to change the name when their witch hunt fizzled out.

I stayed a member under that first name for four years, only posting now and then, keeping a low profile, only occasionally provoking the malcontents over there by pointing out what the actual facts about some things were.

When I finally started speaking my mind (posting replies) regularly, they didn't know what to do with me, since my sign-up date pre-dated most of theirs. So they let me go for a while.

For the next six months, I tripped them with the truth so often, a bunch of of them finally convinced Rimjob to ban me. On the day that happened, there was a thread of over 100 posts celebrating my banning. (I wondered what took them so long.)

Since then, I've been banned at least six times, sometimes on the same day I signed up. The longest I've been able to last is a couple of months. So alert are those poor goofs to 'unmutual thinking,' I'm now identified right away as a "troll" and quickly evicted.

A 'troll' is a poster on Free Republic who tries to make Freepers confront an uncomfortable truth - or at least consider a variant point of view.

But I take pride in knowing that I never broke a single one of Rimjob's posting rules; never used profanity, called anyone a name, stated an untruth, or violated a single policy.

I played by all the rules; the only thing I ever did was have a different point of view -- but, to a Freeper, that's a firing squad offense.

At least, back when I was first banned from Free Republic, Free Republic was worth being banned from. These days that forum sucks so badly, who cares what they're thinking?

...I like to study mass psychology, and reading some of these posts (while disturbing) is actually quite enlightening when trying to reconcile how situations like we are in today actually happen. Kinda like a "know thy enemy" philosophy. I also think to ignore it completely isn't a good strategy, which is why I bother to post the drivel here...just think, you may have been wondering about those people in your community with the Bush-Cheney signs, and here might be what they REALLY think about you but don't have the nerve to admit to your face!
