What do you expect to hear(or not hear) from *'s speech today?

He's expected to make a statement about the Tsunami today and I'm wondering if he will take a step too far and saying something he should not.

I wouldn't be surprise if he says something like We help those countries who helped us but we cannot be responsible for all countries. This is a democracy and if you don't scratch our back we won't scratch your back. You-you can't expect to be fed by the hand you just bite.

What do we know about Shrub's "compassion"? Some have noticed that he is biking and chilling at the pig farm while alertly "monitoring" the tsunami fallout. But soon the wingnuts will be spewing talking points about how this does NOT reflect on his "compassion". For example,

* He doesn't go to soldiers' funerals because he doesn't want to intrude on the private grief of families.

* According to Fauxer Tony SNOWjob, Shrub shows "thoughtfulness" and "consideration" by using his helicopter instead of tying up traffic with security convoys through town.

* He doesn't go to church because he doesn't want to disrupt the services with his security entourage.

* He doesn't meet with the NAACP because he doesn't want the Office of the Presidency (not HIM) dissed.

* He doesn't see his kids much because they want normal lives.

2004 - South Asia

An earthquake causes tsunamis that hit Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Thailand and other South Asian nations. The current death toll is 44,000.

2003 - Iran

A 6.3 quake devastated the Iranian city of Bam, killing more than 50,000 people.

1999 - Venezuela

The death toll is still unclear from the rain-caused landslides that hit Venezuela in mid-December 1999; official estimates are as high as 30,000 deaths.

1998 - Central America

Hurricane Mitch devastates much of Honduras and Nicaragua in Central America. More than 10,000 people were killed and some 2 million left homeless as mudslides swept away whole villages.
