Dean speaks for me!! YET AGAIN
Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 05:32 PM by newsguyatl
honestly, who ELSE would have the cojones to say this?

dean, once again, proves why he's the frontrunner, and why he will (with our help) take this country back!

<snip>
Asked whether his presidential bid might be adversely affected by his support for Davis, Dean responded, "I don't care. My trademark is I say what I think, for better or for worse."

He added, "I'm tired of having this country run by the right wing. That is not where most people are in this country, and I think we ought not to put up with this anymore."

Asked whether he believed the White House was involved in the effort to unseat Davis, Dean said, "Absolutely. I think Karl Rove and George Bush have their hand in this."

The White House has said it is not involved in the race.

Although Dean is the first of the nine Democratic presidential candidates to stump for Davis, all have signed a letter opposing the recall effort and others will soon follow Dean's lead, Davis predicted. In addition, former President Clinton will travel to California in the next week to 10 days to speak in support of Davis, he said.

1. That is great, and CNN did more coverage just now.
He said this all firmly, but calmly.
He took a risk by doing this. Good for him.
I get passionate about takeovers, cause Florida is a done deal.

9. To be fair, this isn't a risk, and all the candidates will do it
Already, Edwards has appeared at a rally for Davis and addressed this issue (with CNN deeming it fit for coverage), and Sharpton spent a whole weekend in Oakland rallying support for Davis.

18. You told me that on another thread.
I did not hear it, I did not know it, I could not know it if I did not see or hear it. Until you told me on the other thread I did not know. Start a thread about Edward's comments. They are probably at his website. Would you like for me to find them?

This is a thread about feeling good about Dean. You should find your candidates remarks and start a feel good thread about him.

That is only fair.

It does take courage to go against the WH and Rove, and if Edwards did it first.....more power to him.

39. Thanks, zidzi, I tend to get passionate about the media stuff.
I guess I sounded snappy. Don't mean to. I also get touchy when others pop in on a nice thread that is not bashing anyone but the media to insert for their candidate.

They should start their own thread, don't you think?
:silly:

Think of how much of that was leveled against Clinton for a blow job in which the real crime was the RICO-violating conspiracy the Bushevisk used to entrap him!

Bush...well...how many have died outright, been maimed, or will die prematurely because of him?

Add in the Manhattan EPA lie, and the number may ALREADY be millions.

Somebody needs to speak out. And it was inevitable that the first person with the balls to step out on a limb and hit hard and say THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES would gain support rapidly.

And that someone seems to be Dean.

2. Damn right, newsguy!
BTW, Shuster just did another live report on MSNBC and DID say that Dean was outspoken about the "right wings attempt to thwart democracy."

Question for you, what is the best phone number to use to get CNN to start covering this?

call the operator, he/she will connect you to public feedback folks who will log your calls...

even for a cynic like me, hearing that is really quite reassuring. A country ruled even from the center is really preferable to one ruled by the horrdenous fascists. Dean scores a point for me.

8. agree
of course i'm an adamant dean supporter, but he's really really really made me proud today!!!

this california recall is such an outcry and something that has bothered me from the outset, and that he's over there speaking not only FOR davis but AGAINST the right wing (and even more against bush and rove saying they have a hand in this) just re-affirms for me, that this is the kind of leader i want...

good work doctor!!! i think i'm donating to you again for this!

6. Now this will be interesting. I am sure that the Republicans
kind of like the fact that Dean is lightening rod, and they wouldn't mind a Dean nomination because they think they can get out their own base if Dean runs.

Now, I think we're going to get a look at what the Republican strategy might be if Dean runs against Bush. Are the Republcans and the media going to try to play up this thing in a way that is meant to stoke right wing turnout?

It'll be interesting to watch the news while this story is in cycle.

Is a GIVEN , AP. I'm referring to the "Christian Right" as they call themsleves. They are the most consistent and stable bloc of voters out there.

Although other folks have said what he's saying. Bill Clinton thinks Rove's behind the recall. Kucinich is sick of the right wing running this country. Sharpton says what he thinks (as if anyone ever doubted that!)

15. not sure about Kucinich
but he did speak out about the power outages which is very impressive. Plus you may be a little bitter over his attack the other night but on the issues hes great and most of the time he is not like that. BTW I would really be giving some props to Dean if he spoke at against the Taft-Hartley bill yet another thing Dennis spoke out against. BTW win or lose the primary, I will always be proud of my original choice.

17. Howard Dean does not dissapoint...
I am so proud of the way he represents this party. Keep telling it like it is Howard. It's so refreshing to hear someone speak without parroting the words of some slick campaign manager or a focus group. He doesn't appear as comfortable on TV as he does out in the trenches, but it's so early, I'm not worried. DEAN ROCKS.

Just the right thing for him to do, with just the right things to say, and I hope he'll do much more of it. I hope he'll have a few things to say about the Texas mess too.

Go, Dean!
