Working Class Hero
Working Class Hero
John Lennon

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty-odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they're telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

1. No, no, no..
The BUSINESSMAN should be the hero! THAT's who creates the jobs. Those lowly workers should know their place and just be grateful to even have a job!

4. As you may have noticed...

...I didn't post this as a topic of discussion. I want you to think about the 'working class' hero that keeps this country humming and prosperous. It's not the gout-ridden CEO or bought-off politician that keeps this nation alive...it's the hard working men and women who drive the trucks and sweep the floors.

- The phrase 'working class poor' is a reality for millions in America. They work one or three jobs to pay the mortgage and put their children through school. They have blisters on their hands and they grow old too soon. They pay their taxes and wait on the American Dream...but all they get is a pauper's grave.

- But the Dream never comes and many no longer even wonder why.

5. its a sad thing Q isnt it
another great song is the hands who built america by U2

Oh my love
It's a long way we've come
From the freckled hills
To the steel and glass canyons

From the stony fields
To hanging steel from skies
From diggin in our pockets
For a reason not to say goodbye

These are the hands that build America
Ah ah ah..... America

Last saw your face
In a watercolored Sky
As sea birds argue
A long goodbye

I took your kiss
On the spray of a new lined star
You gotta live in your dreams
Don't make them so hard

And these are the hands that built America
Ah ah ah..... America

Of all of the promises
Is this one we can keep
Of all of the dreams
Is this one still out of reach
???

Its early fall
There's a cloud in the New York skyline
Innocence...dragged across a yellow line

These are the hands that built America
These are the hands that built America
Ah ah ah..... America
Ah ah ah..... America

This is the song that is played at the end of Gangs of New York really is quite beautiful.
