If you don't believe me, you don't understand science. See, the government is sponsoring ultra-secret research. They know how to travel backwards in time. How could they further their right-wing agenda with huge lizards walking the earth? Well, they couldn't. So they went back in time and put a huge friggin magnet near the Yucatan. This attracted a wicked huge out-of-orbit asteroid (they are comprised of magnetic ore, mind you) to the earth, caused a huge explosion, and wiped out the "terrible lizards."
