The Media's Role Personality over Policy |
|
It seems as if the media is the reason for people caring more about a person's personality than their policies. It seems as if the media pushes the idea that one candidate is more fun than another. While pushing the idea of personality the media does not tell people about the candidates policies that will hurt the public. This happened in the last election and in the California Recall election. On each occasion the media talked about the candidates personality without talking about how Schwarezznegger would have to raise taxes or cut social programs in order to balance the budget. Also they did not mention that privatizing social security will not fix the problem of social security.
