OK, so it wasn't real favorable, but there it was: "DemocraticUnderground.com"

I was at a restaurant in my little 5 stoplight town on the edge of nowhere, and they have a TV tuned in all the time. Faux, of course.

There, between shots of the last two elected, and the one selected POTUS, was a TV screen with words I'd read on DU two days ago. At the bottom, there we were!
"DemocraticUnderground.com"

OK, so it wasn't a real favorable story line, but at least they spelled the name right. We've hit the big time!

BTW: This is a nice place, act respectable.

I just saw the video from Fox. It has somebody quoted as saying that they thought the war's shock and awe brought on the tsunami. I haven't found it yet, but rumor has it that they quoted somebody on DU for wanting Bush to die.

The first one makes DUers look less than intelligent (no offense) and the second one makes DUers look like a bunch of people wanting the president (and perhaps other conservatives) dead. This is not the image I want for DU. Unfortunately, there are some idiots that actually judge all liberals just by this one board. I don't normally call certain people idiots, but it's just a message board for crying out loud.

Anyway, if Fox quoted it, you can guarantee they probably quoted something in an attempt to make DU look like monsters or idiots. I think Fox is wrong for doing that. So, my jokes about liking the publicity are over.

18. Think about Kerry.

He had a few imperfections and the news (especially news sources like Fox) made it seem like that was all he was. I just want people to realize that DU is not necessarily just what Fox says. I don't think much about the intelligence of a person who would assume all DUers are a certain way just because of that, but I'm worried that many are like that.

19. Rip and read--Faux too lazy to research their own story

All their assignment desk needs is a roll of quarters and a sharp pair of scissors... they read the NYTimes article today, cut it out of the paper and fashioned it into a news story.

Clearly, they have amateurs on their assignment desk if they can't go out and research their own news stories... they just read the Times and regurgitate what they've already printed.

Don't worry about how we look--those that are interested enough in this site will read it and find out that it is far more indepth, far more 'Fair and Balanced' than Faux will ever be in 3 lifetimes.. and those that are prone to see things our way will be so very happy that they aren't the only voice of reason crying in the wilderness of the clutternoise of faux's unending drool.

Those that will have an issue with us will out themselves (their pride won't let them not do it)by doing a 'drive by post' resulting in them getting banned really quickly.

What I found most interesting was that our DU was sandwiched between pictured interviews of the last two elected, and the one selected Presidents of the United States.

What a curious placement that was.... despite the slant, there we were, DU, right smack in the middle of the figureheads of democracy.

It wasn't a commercial, or some other of the various and sundry stories of the day that was broadcast in the midst of the figureheads, it was DU! Let the force be with us?
