Tsunami Relief an Opportunity for the U.S. Government to Do Right Thin
I wonder if the incredible relief effort to assist the victims of the tsunami can overtake (and overtake permanently) the machine that is George W. Bush's Neoconservative and fundamentalist "christian" war cult, which is admittedly bent on destroying world accord and diplomacy in favor of endless war.

I wonder if this is an opportunity to use, and to shift, government, funding, military, personnel, manpower and materiel from the "shock and awe," torture, mass murder, bombing, warmongering and death, to doing something good, and to keep doing something good.

After the massive relief effort to the hundreds of thousands of victims of the Tsunami is completed, a massive, great organization will be in place (led in part by President Bill Clinton), that would be able to begin to provide relief, assistance, and a wave of reconciliation and a whole new "assault" to the beleaguered people of Iraq.

The U.S. should use that organization and its incredible might to do the right thing, and this is an opportunity that cannot be squandered.

"Greater than the tread of mighty armies is an idea whose time has come." -- Victor Hugo

2. Most experts agree with him.
This could have been a windfall for international relations towards the US. There's a lot of bad sentiment since Bush has fucked everything up.

But since Bush is so good at fucking things up, he squandered this opportunity too. Not surprising.

4. No, paranoids have deluded beliefs that people are against them.
Our OP appears to hope that Bush & Co will "do the right thing". When has that ever happened?

5. In only eight posts you have used the word paranoia consistantly
why come to this site since it appears you agree in the Bush Regime policies?

You posted you love the idea of bombing Iraq. You posted that Bush is very generous in his foreign support and now you are posting the GOP meme of tinfoil hat.

3. "a massive, great organization will be in place" - it's already in place

and it's called UN :) and it's being led by Kofi Annan who's doing a fine job.

I really appreciate your thought - shifting from torture etc to something good - but if this shift in public opinion would happen the Bushistas would be VERY quick in inventing another threat to the USA I'm afraid. They are in power now and they do NOT want peace. They have stated what they want long ago *sigh*

6. You make an excellent point.

Depending on the time frame, perhaps the next step would be to change the fact that they are in power.
