I have been looking for this list; so glad you posted it. I think it would be a worthwhile effort to contact these groups and ask them to make a matching donation to tsunami relief.

7. Microsoft comes through for tsunami relief

As I am in Portland, OR, Microsoft is the closest geographically of these donors. When I went to their website to see how best to contact them, I was impressed to see that they have a very prominent plea for donations on their front page. The coporation has pledged $2 million dollars, and will match employee contributions to the tune of total expected donation $3.5 mil. Guess I can't argue with that.

8. Hmmmm... Microsoft has a reported $40 billion in cash reserves...

... so $2 million is what .005 of a percent of their cash reserves?

I have around $5000 in cash reserves. That means I can make a 25 cent donation and match Microsoft's generosity?
