there is alot of ammunition against this guy's argument in the franken book

the 2 phone lines should be: 1) i beleive the book without reading it

2. I heard this Monkey...
on some radio program...this is like blaming Herbert Hoover for WWII...he could have stopped the Japanese before they invaded Manchuria. Sheesh.

I hope someone calls in and nails this ass asking his reaction to the BushCo regime gathering up all those Saudis and flying them out of the country right after 9/11

4. It's C-Span's Call...
I watch WJ every morning and it's a tough shot, but they generally give an author with something to push...right or left at least a good 30-50 minutes alone.

I just hope they keep the phone lines balanced...and keep the freepers off the Independent lines.

7. Heard It From A Friend Who Heard It From A Friend
...yeppers. This is that typical wingnut weaving. Notice how this involves shady third-world figures who were the ones involved in these great discoveries, while this bastard wouldn't pick up a pen and write a word if he were handed a scoop that a certain VP was sitting around a map planning to use the U.S. military for his corporate interests.

10.  C-Span is funded by cable stations
C-Span sends subtle messages, imo. Though highly structured, I see leanings that favor the right every day from the preponderance of guests they allow, put downs of what we consider reality logic, slowness to carry negative news of the admin even when articles appear in major newspapers (the last one was the Diebold CEO quote in a major Ohio newspaper)_the ClevePlains, caba

11. I wish they always had
pro and con with smart people on both sides. They tend to not have very articulate people from the left. Where there is no debate between two people presenting ideas caller's opinions get diluted.

9. I don't know how many people listened to this but
Somebody asked about having given money and training to bin Laden during the Soviet's invasion of Afghanistan. Miniter said "no help had been given, I asked authoritative people, yada, yada, yada."
Then I remembered this book (I have not read it, but went to Amazon and got the little summary about it). Here it is:

Charlie Wilson's War: The Extraordinary Story of the Largest Covert Operation in History
by George Crile
Put the Tom Clancy clones back on the shelf; this covert-ops chronicle is practically impossible to put down. No thriller writer would dare invent Wilson, a six-feet-four-inch Texas congressman, liberal on social issues but rabidly anti-Communist, a boozer, engaged in serial affairs and wheeler-dealer of consummate skill. Only slightly less improbable is Gust Avrakotos, a blue-collar Greek immigrant who joined the CIA when it was an Ivy League preserve and fought his elitist colleagues almost as ruthlessly as he fought the Soviet Union in the Cold War's waning years. In conjunction with President Zia of Pakistan in the 1980s, Wilson and Arvakotos circumvented most of the barriers to arming the Afghan mujahideen-distance, money, law and internal CIA politics, to name a few. Their coups included getting Israeli-modified Chinese weapons smuggled into Afghanistan, with the Pakistanis turning a blind eye,and the cultivation of a genius-level weapons designer and strategist named Michael Vickers, a key architect of the guerrilla campaign that left the Soviet army stymied. The ultimate weapon in Afghanistan was the portable Stinger anti-aircraft missile, which eliminated the Soviet's Mi-24 helicopter gunships and began the train of events leading to the collapse of the U.S.S.R. and its satellites. A triumph of ruthless ability over scruples, this story has dominated recent history in the form of blowback: many of the men armed by the CIA became the Taliban's murderous enforcers and Osama bin Laden's protectors. Yet superb writing from Crile, a 60 Minutes producer, will keep even the most vigorous critics of this Contra-like affair reading to the end.

13. Misinformation R Us
The fact this guy not only wrote off the Raygun/BushI connections to Bin Laden and the Mujahadeen but then revised to say there were none whatsoever destroyed any credibility he had.

I wish the host had mentioned which company published his book (standard in most interviews)and ask him for his background...that most C-SPAN hosts do; so we get a better idea of who this moron is and whose pocket he's living in.

Gotta give these NeoCons credit, they get their books out and put their hacks in the best media light...especially when Harper-Collins needs the bulk (+) orders.

I got bored with this turd...I read the Time Magazine's review of Gerald Pozner's book that involves a REAL journalism.
