Canadian TV: Rick Mercer's Talking to Americans reruns tonight (Wed)

Rick Mercer continues his quest to expose ridiculous degrees of American ignorance about Canadian issues in this hour-long comedy special. Mercer and his crew head south to trade quips and quiz unsuspecting Americans at the beach in Miami, the White House in Washington, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the streets of New York City about Canadian politics, culture, current events and public figures. Featuring out-takes and clips from behind-the-scenes, the special relishes in Americans' uncanny ability to go on at great lengths on subjects they know nothing about.

Mercer was one of the founding members of "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" the name being a take-off on a groundbreaking early 60's newsmazazine show on CBC called "This Hour Has 7 Days". There's also a snipe at how many commercials can be broadcast in a 1/2 hour segment.
