4. Where/what are their sources for these claims?

Such as on question 2, when the ex-cop claims that Russia, Jordan, Egypt, France, Germany, and others all warned that the week of Sept 11 multiple airliners owuld be hijacked (probably from Logan) and crashed into buildings.

That's a pretty specific statement, and I haven't seen ANY sources supporting something that specific. Are there sources for this claim? Does Guerilla News have their sources for these allegations anywhere on their web-site (I couldn't find them if they are)?

14. Consider further.

While there's very little dispute that all the cited early warnings were, in fact, provided to US 'intelligence' agencies, there remains the specious claim that either it wasn't all available to any common sythesis or decision-making function or, even more speciously, that it was never forwarded on by peripheral recipients (i.e. embassies or field offices).

We can easily refute this claim by making a single salient observation: This information was sufficiently assembled and synthesized that within 48 hours of the attacks this information (and more) was made public -- including the names and nationalities of each hijacker, the flight each was on, and their location and activities preceding the attacks.

There is no way in Hell this was all not known and assembled prior to the morning of 9-11. No way in Hell. (Remember Richard Jewell?)

When its not being used to download porn, I hear it's a great research tool.

Do a search on the guy interviewed, Michael Ruppert. Do a search on the article headlines shown from the LA Times, Village Voice, CBSNews.com.

I don't do porn (young kids in the house), but thanks for the helpful flaming.

I've found some of this stuff before, but it's usually poorly documented, such as the high-production value, zero-credibility GNN video), or vague and unsubstantiated (btw, just becuase Michael Ruppert says it's true, doesn't make it so; on the same note, searching headlines from the LA Times is often ineffective).

One of the reasons I've been coming to DU for the past couple of years is that I can ask more knowledgable people for specific help in finding credible, useful information.

I've already received a very helpful, informative link, thank you very much (it quite opened my eyes, and I posted a thank-you reply), but thanks anyway for helping to enlighten me as well as maintaining the high level of discourse I'm coming to find at DU.

First off: I didn't say YOU were downloading porn, now did I?

Sources inevitably link to other sources - if you'd done those searches, you might've found them for yourself. The story that bicentennial baby linked to in fact uses the LA Times as a source, amongst others that might be considered "zero credibility" as well.

If GNN has no credibility, might I suggest other "high production value" sources -- CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. -- who have a hell of a lot more money for their productions. Guess everything they produce are filthy lies, too.

And I'm not sure "maintaining the high level of discourse" includes thinly veiled insults at someone who just wants you to do your own research and your own thinking.

For the record, I liked the GNN thing and I started to get into it, and I considered forwarding the link to my mother. Then, of course, I heard my mother's voice saying, "It's a very pretty little video, but what are your SOURCES?" This is, in my opnion, a major flaw in an otherwise good video. It would be truly superb with direct sources posted, since most folk enjoy high production value, yet need some kind of direct source.

However, if the only way to verify the information contained in the video is by googling Ruppert, and then checking HIS sources -- well, that's not very time-efficient, is it? Especially not for casual users of the internet I might be interested in forwarding this to. People shouldn't have to research that themselves. All I'm saying is that it needs some endnotes, okay?

I was in no way trying to imply that the contents of the video were "filthy lies." You will find those words nowhere in my original post; if you find that implication, I assure you that was not my intention. I apologize for any ambiguity I might have been responsible for. I asked for someone to provide links to sources for some of the stuff I've never found on my own before because I was under the impression that DU was a place "to provide a resource for the exchange and dissemination of liberal and progressive ideas."
