Here in Houston, Texas, our local CBS station is again bumping "60 Minutes II" out of it's primetime time slot because of a politically sensitive story, replacing it instead with a program with a religious tie-in.
Tonights big story on 60 Minutes... "Pentagon scandal" In it's place: "A Time to Live (Fundraiser) St. Jude Children's Research Hospital telethon."
Last month, KHOU bumped 60M when they ran a story about American servicemen that had fled to Canada in opposition to the war in Iraq, preempted by another St. Jude special. The month before was the first time I noticed, but I forget what the subject was. This has become KHOU's new modus-operandi ever since the Ben Barnes story that resulted in scandal over the use of fraudulent documents last year.
If you wish to see tonights' 60 Minutes in Houston, set your VCR for 3am tomorrow morning. :^\
