People were still moving westward attempting to get away from being trampled by the barons into oblivion. There is not much westward left but there will be a movement, (has to be) or the worst trampling in the world will take place against the poorest people of this nation. It will be like a tsunami, those who take the time to reflect back will never make it to higher ground.

11. It's a fusion

of the corporate robber baron era and the Vietnam era. But it's different from the Vietnam era because although there is a huge movement against Bush, we're different from the movement of the 60's, I think. I didn't live during that time so anyone who did and would like to add to this feel free too, but the counter culture movement of the 60's seems to have been rooted a lot in breaking traditional societal modes. We seem to have less of an interest in that are are actually more trying to preserve certain things like abortion and labor rights and so forth. We're both trying to stop a war but we're doing it in different ways. They used drugs and music, we use the internet (though there may be some drugs thrown in there occasionally). It's harder to identify us on the street. Some of us may have long hair or wear tie die shirts but those are just leftovers from the past. We haven't developed anything new to call ourselves. We don't call ourselves hippies, we just say that we hate Bush and the current direction America is on. Maybe a name for us will surface at some point, because I think this movement has really just begun. But for now, it's still in its infancy.
