If we look at the elections of 1952 and 1920 both Democratic candidates were chosen from outside the cabinet and lost by large margins. You have to go back to 1876 to find a similar situation with a two-term Republican administration. However in that case a monumental screwup in the electoral college allowed Hayes to prevail over Tilden.
Given that the incumbent party would like to maximize the coattail effect(Even accounting for the certain vote fraud), does this mean that Condi will be the preferred candidate over a Republican Senator or Governor?

but the use of the generally unsuccessful Senator strategy would entail vote fraud on an even greater scale than 2000,2002 or 2004. Given the possible legal and political ramifications would it not be easier to nominate less of a long shot?

The woman is the most conflicted public figure on the political stage since Nixon.
I hope she is not the GOP nominee and instead is institutionalized until she is able too make basic decisions on function and the difference between right and wrong.
