It was all over the news-- especially the Today Show-- for about a week, before Americans got bored with it and moved on to other tragic distractions.

I don't mean to diminish the personal loss to Mr. Bloom's family or the staff of The Today Show, but answer me this:

The spent a week to eulogize David Bloom, but where are the eulogies to the Iraqi women, children, and other civilians who were killed in Iraq?

There are more than 100,000 families in Iraq right now who are grieving every bit as much as David Bloom's family is.

Shouldn't we be seeing at least SOMETHING on The Today Show about that?

Oh, sure. We get stories of our own grieving war widows. But we only see the ones who say, "I am proud for his sacrifice."

And the media was thrilled to cover the super-patriotic story of Pat Tillman, until it came out that he was an atheist.

At Tillman's funeral, his brother Rich said, "Pat isn’t with God. He’s fucking dead. He wasn’t religious. So thank you for your thoughts, but he’s fucking dead."

Katie Couric is not a journalist. None of them on The Today Show are journalists. Al Roker comes closest, because he reports on the weather.

The Today Show is nothing but a bunch of self-serving cheerleaders,. Their job isn't so much to support the Republicans as it is to put lipstick on the pig that is the media. They are the pretty face, the PR front people, the goodwill ambassadors, for the media.

But Catie Couric is still one fuckable little NewsBot.
