Has anyone read The Best Democracy Money Can Buy ?
I just bought it at Barnes and Noble. It seemed like it was one of the few liberal oriented books on the politics and current events table. It looked interesting. Is it a good book?

14. 20 min. at a time
I could not read that for more than 20 minutes in one sitting, I just got so angry I had to get up and do something, anything! But thats why its so great! The only other book that made me do that was "It Can't Happen Here"

4. Yes, if you like muckracking. Well done muchracking.
The problem is when the muck is exposed, you tend to be sick. It shows the links of the BFEE very clearly.

5. ....
Great read, but it's a little confusing. Palast keeps throwing around ideas based around documents that we don't really know exist. You have to trust him. I usually do.

6. Yes.
Also get Joe Conason's new book, "Big Lies". And if you can stomach it, "The Hunting of the President".

7. I bought two copies.
Fantastic book! Palast sometimes loses me in explaining economic issues (I'm kind of ig'nint whan it comes to economics) but on the whole....It's just amazing, and frightening too.

9. I agree!
It's a fantastic book - but I got lost a few times, as well. Especially in the last few chapters where it seemed as though he were almost ranting to himself.

It got a little disjointed - but a great read, and a real eye opener anyway.

8. It is terrific
I learned quite a bit from this book. Palast exposes the extent of corruption that permeates the Bush family and its connections worldwide. I bought it as a gift for one of my like minded friends, the local librarian.

11. It is great.
I haven't actually finished it- I have to read it at times when i am feeling strong and confident, because it is so disturbing. Even if only half of it is accurate, the amount of greed and corruption and viscousness that runs the world is astounding.

15. got it, read it
Yes, it's good, in the sense that it is valuable. Don't read it if you need to be lifted out of a depressed mood.

16. Just buying it should make you feel better
It's not the quality, though the American edition is literal work of art, with donated pieces by Winston Smith for every chapter.

It was a cooperative work, which took valuable material and propelled it to the NY Times best seller list for six months.

You can keep it there.

17. This book is the bases
for understanding much of what is happening in our country today. Greg Palast is remarkable and a true journalist.

Buy 10 of his books.....we need to keep him investigating and writing.
