No "dirty bomber" alarms from John Ashcroft.

No "color codes" from Tom Ridge.

No fear mongering from Dick Cheney.

Not a peep.

9 1/2 weeks. No terror alerts.

Is this the longest stretch without fear mongering from the White House yet?

Could it possibly be connected to the fact that Bush isn't running for President?

Surely, President Bush would not have used fear to further his own political ambitions. Would he?

I think I resent this the MOST about this administration: After what was the true horror of 911 (which happened during HIS time in office, which never seems to come up), they actually play on people's fears for pure political gain. I was just saying to my husband an hour ago, so where did Osama go? If he was so concerned (sarcasm) about the U.S. election, he sure did grow strangely quiet about the outcome. Maybe he, too, was waiting to see if Kerry and the DNC were going to fight back and take what was theirs.

Also.....no further mention of "capturing or killing" Osama. I always hated that phrase. :shrug: They were sure "hot on his trail" just prior to the election!

Some one on DU did a graph of the terra lerts and smirk's poll ratings. His ratings would bounce up after a terralert, but toward the end, people knew he was crying wolf and they hardly budged at all.
