which is suprisingly a sister network of Fox, but in Australia actually has a couple of reasonable reporters working for it.

6. I usually find that....

DU is 15-20 mins ahead of the broadcast nets and I don't watch the cable tabloids at all. I get all of my news from Dish satellite on World Link, and that includes Democracy Now with Amy Goodman and Mosaic which is world news from various sources.

8. I pretty much just use DU.

For local stuff I watch the local nightly news, and I listen to NPR in the a.m. on the way to work. These don't inform, they just amuse. For breaking news, I just click into the breaking news forum.

10. Breaking news is CNN...

...and that's what is on most TVs in the newsroom here, too. There are one or two with Fox on, and MSNBC is usually on in the business reporting area.

I have a raw wire feed, so I get the full-length unedited stories from our wire services. I also get the raw feed of AP photos. It's nice to be in the biz when it comes to staying informed.

Google News searches are helpful. A couple keywords on a topic I have picked up from elsewhere will usually deliver numerous outlets with stories on it. Many times, there are foreign outlets with different angles on the story than the U.S. media, or with additional information from foreign politicians.

I scan the DU news list, as well.

Here in BFE Kansas, I use NPR a LOT as well. I know that everyone hates them, but they are the most liberal or non-bias news that I can get, and they broadcast the BBC, which I really like. In my home, however, I can't pick up NPR, so I go to CNN. I only have the choice between them, FOX News, and the local stations, so they seem like the best choice!

17. I Watch MSNBC

Because they have Olbermann, because i absolutely won't watch Faux, and because i boycotted CNN after the "geniuses" in charge verred right in reactino to Faux's success, rather than pursue their own market niche. I figured they were too dumb to patronize.

Mostly though, i get news on the internet, especially through links in LBN, right here.

I don't get the cable news channels, so it's not really an option. If it's a really big story, it will be on the networks anyway.

19. I'm a flipper

I will watch them all, to see the different slants that are being taken. Depending on the type of story, different networks are good for different things.

CNN has the best international (I don't get BBC).
MSNBC covers the big domestic stories most quickly, but are often not quite accurate.
FOX is the one place to go to keep myself real, and know what garbage is being stuffed into the brains of the lost, so that I know how to counteract them when I meet them in a dark alley.

And always, hop on the Internet, where I use a variety of sources.
