Old Fashioned Boycott - tell me what you think

I'm not mush of an organizer of people but, maybe someone else can take the ball and run with it.

What does everyone think about having a boycot of;

1. Red companies (their stock because that's REALLY what they care about)

2. Red media

Stop buying stocks from red companies sell the stock you own in red companies and stop subscribing to red newspapers stop watching red news shows, etc...

Look for any companies that donate 0.000% to red.

How many are there? Very few.

The corporate sect, while far more chummy with the repukes, will give campaign $ to hand-picked Dems who'll do their bidding. For the corporations are the ones in true control.

3. I'm in favor of a nation wide strike for one week and if that doesn't do

7. Great Idea, always been my disappointment in Nader

There was a time when Ralph Nader was in the limelight as a consumer advocate. He had the floor, he could have organized a consumer union that could have had the power to run the sleaziest of the corporations out of business. But he dropped the ball and became a big nothing.

8. Dont worry about owning stock in them

buying and selling stock in Red companies doesnt affect them that much, the company already made their money during the initial sale of stock.

Much more effective, buy a couple shares in a red company, go to their annual shareholders meeting and RAISE HELL. If you own stock, they have to let you attend, and many companies require that any shareholder that wishes to speak must be given a minimum amount of time to address the shareholders.
That stock means you are an owner of the company, and you have some say in how it is run. Let them know you do not approve of their methods. Let them know you will actively encourage people to boycott the company unless something is done.

9. Specific companies especially

if we can't do all of them, pick out the worst: Walmart and Exxon is a good start. I really believe this will help, as Europe is doing the same thing and it is getting noticed. They are boycotting McDonald's, American Express, Exxon among other companies and trying not to buy American if they can help it.
