Last year, President Bush broke his 2000 campaign promise to renew the Federal Assault Weapons Ban and let it expire in September. With his NRA cronies in power in Congress, sensible gun laws are being threatened more than ever. Incredible as may seem, the gun lobby wants to roll back laws such as the Brady background checks and the ban on machine guns.

NOBODY is trying to change the laws concerning fully automatic weapons, it is all hyperbole.

I will never forget that when the assault weapons ban was being debated in the beginning, CNN kept running file footage of a fully automatic, tripod mounted, belt fed machine gun being fired every time they ran a spot on it. Is it any wonder the average person is so hysterically misinformed.

5. What ban on fully automatic weapons?

They are heavily regulated but not banned.

What she's obviously trying to do is SCARE people into thinking that they ARE banned and that the Evil Gun Lobby is trying to end the ban (which does not exist).

Here is a link to the portion of the United States Code that contains all federal gun laws. I'm pretty familiar with it, having been a gun owner and collector for many years.

If you can find a ban on automatic weapons in it, please point it out. The truth of the matter is that there has been almost no crime committed with legally owned machine guns since the National Firearms Act was enacted in 1934. They're NOT banned, so how the fuck could anyone be trying to end the ban?
