Go see "The Assassination of Richard Nixon"

I saw this earlier today, and I can't shake it. Incredibly powerful performance by Sean Penn, just masterful. Great directing by a first-time director, Niels Mueller.

And though it's about Nixon, you can't help but make the connection...

Just a stunningly good movie. Highly recommended.

4. Yeah, Netflix is great

Reed Hastings, who is the CEO of Netflix, is a local guy here in Santa Cruz. He was a big Dean supporter during the primaries.

He also is a major advocate of education reform; he's on the CA Board of Ed, but is in a battle to save his seat. Some board members want him off because he supported that resolution that mandated at least 2 1/2 hours of instruction in English in public schools.

I'm a terrible Netflix customer, though, or a great one from their perspective; I keep the movies forever, but pay that $23 every month.
