As Bush and his Republicans contaminate our political processes
and elections, they are delegitimizing themselves;the Democrats who acquiesce in this process are also going to fall victim to the same stigma of lack of legitimacy. This would require a wholesale revamp of our corrupted political system. That may not happen today or even ten years from now but the rot is beginning.

People who, several years ago may not have minded are going to be alive to the possibility of change. Those who are not tainted by the current structures are going to be the political heroes of tomorrow.

2. All we need is someone who can lead the people from the
corruption, politically speaking.
It needs to be a new yet undiscovered dynamic leader who is not yet corrupted by the system. Someone from outside the "club" yet someone with enough clout to push through the BS.
Any ideas?

5. Howard Dean, Dennis Cucinich (sp) and AL?
Al Gore or Al Sharpton?
I think Al Sharpton would be better than Gore if that is what you were thinking.
Al Sharpton is not afraid to say what needs to be said.

3. I don't agree
I mean are the dishonesties of today really so dissimilar from the dishonesties of yesteryear? Democracy is constantly in the process of reinventing itself.

More to the point I think the Republican Party is pretty over-extended and that they aren't going to be able to hold it together for much longer, particularly if we do our part in educating people on Social Security.

So if there is rot, I believe it's in the Republican Party and not in the system as a whole.

7. Eventually it will catch up to them. Stability requires moderate policy.
What they are doing will eventually crash the system, either monetarily or militarily. They are in over their heads.

Unless they are prepared to wage war against the people of this country when they camp out on the Mall demanding change, they will eventually find that their policies are unsustainable.
