Enough with the electoral map. These are the REAL red/blue maps:
These are 3 of the maps that people all over the country need to see, so they realize this country is more evenly divided than what right wing media would like everyone to believe....with their gross over-indulgence of that obscenely divisive red/blue electoral map they love shoving down our throats.

These are my favorite 3 maps, the first 2 taken from this website:
http://bigpicture.typepad.com/writing/2004/11/cartograms_of_t.html
Interestingly, much of the West and the Dead-Center are more red than much of the Deep South.

"Now converting this into a cartogram -- controlling for population rather than land mass -- reveals this":

However, if the right wing wants to use divisively misleading electoral maps to pat themselves on the back, then they should consider this one below, which changes the meaning of it all. I found it at the following website along with its informative article. The article, the one showing the next map, is entitled "Red States Feed at Federal Trough, Blue States Supply the Feed." The blue states pictured are the ones footing more than their fair share of the tax bill, at the benefit of the reds:

1. I love the top map.
I live in the purpley area of north Texas that is Dallas County. Thank God I don't live in Collin County (sorry to all DUers who do!!!).

Note also the border areas of Texas. There's a blue tide going on down there and I hope it washes over all of Texas and into Oklahoma in the next few years.

10. Yeah, the top map clearly shows a much a much truer representation
of the country than the ridiculous "red states/blue states" electoral map we got so used to seeing all during the election. I swear the purpose of that electoral college map is to sway voters into jumping on the red states bandwagons. Course, if the electoral map ever becomes mostly blue, I'm sure I won't mind seeing it as much, lol.

2. I like the middle map - I live in that dark blue area inland of NC
This is a very liberal area and we're tired of being painted with a red brush!

Liberal North Carolinians, stand up and be counted!

3. The 2nd map (middle graph) looks like a Rorschach Blot...
...my interpretation is that it is a flying insect with the head of a cat and the tail of a bee

It reminds me of something I caught fishing at night
last summer. I'm still not sure what it was!

4. Another clue that the Ohio vote was stolen
Notice how the proportional maps (maps 1 and 2) show Ohio as being more red than its surrounding areas. More red than would be expected. More red than it is!

Ohio is too red because the Kerry votes were stolen.

5. Check out the liberal rural areas
Some of the most interesting places you can visit are the liberal rural areas-parts of Vermont, New Mexico, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Maine.

9. And if we had a fair election
Ohio, Florida, and probably NC, along with many other districts, would have been blue.
