8. This article is ridiculous...

There is no such thing as 'objective' and never has been.

The point-of-view journalists should always take is one of the eyes & ears of the people -- to defend the interests of the people from the interests of the powerful. This is why we know that Cronkite & Rather's actions made them good journalists. This is how we know that 'conservative' outlets feature celebrities instead of journalists - they do not represent the people, they communicate the propaganda of the powerful.

Finally, while the current environment is leading toward different groups getting news from completely separate sources (which will polarize groups in the short run) eventually people will be able to determine which outlets are reporting something-close-to-reality and which are pandering to the powerful.

9. Slimeman as usual, takes what could be an insightful article and in the

end turns it into something blaming CBS for Bush and the RWings dominance of the AMMP.

He's very clever in the way he writes. I stopped reading him because he manages to slither himself very carefully through criticisms of a subject always turning the blame in the end towards anyone but the Bushes.

This article started off so differently, I thought I'd check it out. And sure enough...after pointing out that Cronkite and Rather made a difference in Vietnam War and Watergate he then blames them for dismantling the AMMP (mainstream press coalition)by speaking out. So, in effect he's talking out of both sides of his mouth. He finishes the article off blaming Rather and CBS and the internet Bloggers for AWOLGATE.

He also gives "veiled" praise to Rove for the direct mail campaigns that have bilked millions of seniors out of money with their "Medicare Scares," "Save Jesus Scares" and all the rest of the stuff that comes out of the Ridenour Powerhouse Direct Mail Machine there in Virginia. Notice he mentions their activities but doesn't really talk about them bilking Americans while they spread disinformation and lies.

He ends the article with "...woe is Me....who ARE we to believe these days..now that we no longer have the AMMP." (my paraphrase of his close).

Just another example of the media weasels..doing their work for the Corporate Whores. No wonder he's a favorite of Tweety Twist in the Wind... I wonder how these people sleep at night. There consciences must be kept very comfy by personal pleasures.
