Thunder In January!?

Well this has to be one of the strangest winters I have experienced. At this time of year, where I live, the weather is usually bone-chilling cold (21.8 Deg Avg.) with lots of snow to accompany the cold. Today it is warm, rainy and I am hearing sustained claps of thunder. I guess we need to study that global warming thing some more. :eyes:

5. Robins are still in my backyard

here in PA. Actually, I don't know if that's unusual or not.....I just don't remember ever seeing any in Jan.......... and it was always considered good luck to wish on the first robin sighted in Spring. :shrug:

weird weather comes & goes. We're forcast to have thunder tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it. Two years ago we had our bedroom window cracked in early Feburary, listening to Barred Owls. I can remember a night back in Baltimore about 25 years ago when it was snowing hard, wind blowing a good 20mph and lightning. That was wild.

This is in no way denying the reality of climate change. Climate is about long term trends, like the increased frequency and intensity of drought here in the Southeast.
