It might cause both of you to be investigated if you sent this person money by U.S. mail.
So I am not sure what to do. Is this a friend or family member who needs the money? There are reporting forms required for sending money by wire transfer but it might be your best bet to keep things on the up-and-up. If I think or hear of an alternative, I'll post again. Would the armed services or your congresscritter know how to get the money to the person in Iraq?
