is ever punished for their at most illegal actions and at least incompetence?
I don't know if I'm asking this question right, but in a perfect world we would never had gone to war with Iraq in the first place. But since we certainly can't have that, I could at least be able to put this behind me at some point when this tragedy is all over if senior people were held accountable. Then I least I would be able to tell myself "well people will think twice before they try that bullshit again."
At this point with no one but, out of control low ranking troops and mid level officers going to jail and don't get me wrong in most cases these people deserve that. I say most cases because I firmly believe that a lot of these troops were acting under someone's supervision who should have known and did know what they were up to and those persons should be in the cell next to them. I also believe there are some down right injustices going on where troops have reported shit and been punished to cover some supervisor's ass. I also think even those that are being punished are receiving extremely light sentences for the crimes they are alleged to have committed which sends up a red flag in my mind.
At any rate I don't see myself ever being able to let go of the pain and hurt I feel for everyone involved in this because a vast majority of my countrymen had their head up their asses and let this happen.
