Democracy imposed? Theocracy? No Saddam? No WMD? Makes no difference to the basic goal of resource theft. America was determined to sit at the same table with OPEC and dictate prices on their newly discovered wealth. Genocide as a byproduct. Deficits be damned. Soon America will be an oil exporter to the richest nations on the planet: China & India. The new paradigm - use that mother-fucking world class death technology to get what you want. 11. China has ALWAYS pretty much stayed where it is.

The borders fluctuate somewhat (!!) but governing one fifth of the world population is enough to give anyone enough of a headache.

The Iraq situation was indeed supposed to spark of World War III
but it has turned into
a simple case of mercenaries being killed off before payday
and the US being shocked and awed by the people of Fallujah.

13. WW3 or Vietnam II?

I'm not sure if the whole world will jump in like a World War, or if it will just be us and our small coalition fighting a guerilla war. Right now it looks like more of a Vietnam II, and I hope it doesn't escalate to WW3 levels.
