IMHO, yes it would have been but it is shades of grey. I thought the webpage with these costumes was funny (albeit in a very un-PC and disturbing way) but if someone who is 3rd in line for the throne actually wore one to a party, it would be different.

Funny can depend on context and there is nothing funny about dressing like a Nazi if you a) demonstrate a desire to be one or b) represent the UK in the capacity that Prince Harry does.

What if he had worn a "king" costume..hehe! Forget about ghost or satan or angel..now that would set off someone, for sure...oh yeah, the theme was colonial, etc. Well...some kind of plantation outfit..nope..that would not work..slave owners that they were and all...well since it was colonial africa..how about going as an african with black face..noooooooooo...that would certainly do it!! oh well..anyway..outrage is one of the medias favorite stories to do...so does anyone really care except the small percentage of brits who are into watching the royals every move..and, of course, the media.

The Nazi unifrorm means what exactly? Nazi's are cool? Nazi's are bad-I'm bad? 1945 was so long ago it's like wearing a Roman slave costume? I'm a clueless amoral royal? I'm dumb and politcially really unsavy? My mom died and I'm acting out?

Maybe it was a dare. That's the only good answer. So the Nazi uniform is really a FU to the Prince of Wales (Daddy) and the Queen (Granny)-not a political statement but a personal one.
