Even so, more than one conclusion could be drawn from that data -- one person could claim, for instance, that this "proves" that African-Americans are more violent and "lawless" than whites, while another person could point to the same evidence as "proof" that the criminal justice system is biased against African-Americans. But when there isn't an anomaly in the statistical makeup of a subgroup, there's little that can be rationally claimed about the situation.

state certified so if one gets fired for inappropriate behavior, including but especially sexually inappropriate behavior--sexual harassment, having a physical or romantic relationship with a student, there is no central database that potential employers can check.

States do revoke teachers' certificates for such misconduct and when they do that information is available when the individual seeks a license in another state or applies for a job.

There is nothing wrong with those here who in your view are "bashing" Christians. The path is clear and those who proclaim to be "Christian" while violating every aspect of their "faith" will be judged, by their fellow humans and ultimately by God.

As for your view that one must remain demure or acquiesce to those who proclaim to be "fundamentalists" in order to open a dialogue, well that strikes me as naive at best and most likely a path towards more TaliBornAgain restrictions. This line of thought is quite similar to those in our party who advocate moving more towards the right to win elections at the expense of those in our party who deserve the protections we have fought so hard to put into place. If you are truly interested in opening a dialogue with the "fundamentalists" you need to engage them on their own turf using language and beliefs they understand, something I have been doing for the last few months. Simply hoping that by playing nice that they will come to see a more enlightened view is to await disaster.
That said, I am interested to hear what your specific definition of a "fundamentalist" is? Is it a broad stroke, or do you have a specific framing?
