I know the Bush regime would do it in a second, but they need congressional approval. Most reps and senators want to keep their positions and voting for a draft would be highly unpopular...I wonder what Bush Co has up its sleeves to sell this.

Aberdeen: Local board members needed

The Selective Service System is looking for men and women to serve as members of local boards that are currently in a standby mode. A prospective member must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years old, registered with the Selective Service (if male), not employed in law enforcement, not an active or retired Armed Forces member and not convicted in any criminal offense.

If a military draft becomes necessary, approximately 2,000 local and appeal boards throughout the nation would decide which young men in each community receive deferments, postponements or exemptions from military service, based on federal guidelines and community standards.

I linked to the original article up above and think the important thing here is to follow the real story and not lose focus of the facts just because neo-nazis were concerned about the draft too and wrote their own article.

info...but I wouldn't discount the Admin's actions with regard to a future draft. Bush didn't say never, he equivocated as usual so that he will be able to smile, tell us how much he cares, then take our kids in the name of advancing freedom/democracy and protecting America.
