"I Have a Dream"...

I'm sitting here listening to this speech and it's getting to the point where Reverend Dr. King is rolling. 'From every mountainside, LET FREEDOM RING!" What a great message, still relevant today. "From every Mountainside!" "From every state and every and every city!" Free at Last, Free at Last, Thank God Almighty, Free at last!" WOW! What an inspiring speech. Sometimes I wonder what Reverend King would say about what the righties have done to religion.
I faintly remember this speech as a child, as my parents were sort of local freedom fighters and they were inspired by these and other great words by this great man. I was about 5 years old at that time, but this speech, as well as the actions of my parents and others, have inspired me to this day. Hopefully, they will inspire others too and we can keep up the fight for racial, social, and economic equality for all people of this land.

These quotes were from different occasions:

"For nonviolence not only calls upon its adherents to avoid external physical violence, but it calls upon them to avoid internal violence of spirit. It calls on them to engage in that something called love. And I know it is difficult sometimes. When I say love at this point, I'm not talking about an affectionate emotion. I was also thinking about this idea:

"I will never allow any man to drag me so low as to make me hate him; and above all I will never become bitter."

Sometimes it easy to feel hateful when people who are supposed to represent us make torture and death squads the official policy of the country....

But I don't want to become like them.


Today would be a great day to be having a march.

3. I think one of the largest marchest is in San Antonio TX today.

They have a new parade route, and there are supposed to be tens of thousands there marching today, which is pretty big for S.A.
