This documentary which the film critic David Thompson doubts will ever be shown in the US, and names as his favorite of the year, is coming to San Francisco!!
The San Francisco International Film Festival is going to show it. The exact date of the screening is not set yet, but you can check out their site at
http://www.sffs.org, the screening dates will be announced some time around March 29th.
I have seen this 3 part documentary made for the BBC, and it is indeed great, not a pamphlet like F/9/11 (no complaint on my part, though, I liked F911 a lot!). It debunks the neocon myths very simply and exposes them in their own words.
Here is more info on the film (from the BBC):
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/3755686.stmThe film confirms what I had always thought (I am from Europe originally, and have lived through a decade of terrorist attacks in the 80's), which is that Al Qaeda as described by the Neocons does not exist, nor is there such thing as an "Al Qaeda" fighter.
I found the film reassuring that I was not crazy, though it does show that torture and war are the beloved parents of terrorism, thus the Bush policies are a guarantee that terrorism will increase in the years to come.
SF DU'ers, you MUST see this film, and the SF Film Festival might be your only chance!!
Adam Curtis produced another great documentary 2 years ago called "The Century of Self", well worth seeing as well.
