Just a note of warning first: if you don't like Michael Moore for whatever reason don't feel the need to flame me because I do. I'm slowly loosing hope in traditional politicians to save us from the tragic accident that the country is slowly but surely heading towards.
" Dear Michael,
I wish to send this e-mail to kindly ask you to save democracy. The U.S of A needs you. I believe that you have the passion, the charisma and the perseverance needed to save your country. I hope that you will seize the opportunity that your good name among your fellow citizens affords you, to rescue the nation from the precipice which it faces. I strongly feel that by not doing so, you could be seen to be silently approving government policies as the mass media has done for the last four years. The position that you have attained in America's consciousness should be exploited for all the good it can bring. Many Americans who are aware of what is happening to the country and what is likely to happen, have begun to despair. They feel that no-one is talking out loud about the dark future we are all facing and they are looking for a leader of your caliber. You might argue that they are many others who are more qualified to lead the country out of the nightmare which it is sleeping through, but that would be to deny the status you have achieved through your work and your commitment. The incredible success of your "get out the vote" campaign was sadly erased away by a vindictive and unscrupulous administration bent on amassing power and money by exploiting the American people in the most profane way. I wish to believe that you are a great American who will recognize when his time has come. Your time has come, you need to use your gifts of communication and compassion to save this once great nation from slowly deteriorating into nothingness. Millions of people would like nothing better than to have you telling them what a wonderful place they are capable of building together. A place they will be proud of, a place where they will feel appreciated, where they can contribute to its growth, a place where they feel safe, a place where they can work to live and not simply to survive, a place where everyone they will all feel at home. A wise man once said "I have a dream", but the hopefulness, the determination, the faith in a more enlightened future, that that statement conveyed have all but faded away. Please bring back some light, make us believe once again that behind every dark cloud lies a beautiful blue sky.
Yours sincerely,
Passy"
