Bush promised to keep us safe...and yet if it happens again, how much would that hurt him, and his minions in congress?

Americans believed him once, going into Iraq...would they believe him again?

I voted for the most severe punishment that Bush would face as a consequence of his actions, but that's the optimist in me!

Half of me feels justice will triumph over all, and yet half of me thinks the Mesquite Mafia will get away with murder, (literally, 100,000s of murders).

There was a time I thought Bush et al would be held accountable, but that thought is slowly fading...

However, I voted for the toughest punishment since to do otherwise would mean to admit defeat.

Media will continue to sell fear. Did you know that the bad guys in iraq are getting supported by the bad guys in iran who are next to alqaeda? Be patriotic. Be afraid. I fear people are stupid enough to buy into this but hopeful that they are not.

8. Iran is 3 times the size of Iraq

almost 3 times the population, and has a much better army than Iraq did. Invading them will make the Iraq invasion look like the Granada invasion. We will sustain much much heavier casulties, and it would likely take a draft to get the kind of personel we would need. I honestly don't think Bushco could pull this off without pissing off the vast majority of the country.

are completely sane and competent enough to stop this at the psychological warfare level.

Iran hasn't undergone 10 years of economic sanctions and the occasional bombing that's kept them in line. A military campaign in Iran will be a bloodbath.

10 years of sanctions and occasional bombings has Saddam's regime to a point that a strong wind could have taken it down. Not so with Iran. If we invade them, I think it'll look a lot like Normandy from WWII in terms of casulties.
