What will the Iraqis do when they find out they will NOT be voting for a

new President? Most of them believe this but do not understand that they will be voting for a governing body of various people whose identify is unknown to most of those who will be voting. And what will the Iraqis who have stayed in Iraq and lived under the horrible regime of Saddam do when they learn that Iraqi who have not lived in Iraq for over 30 years will have a vote that will carry the same weight as theirs? I venture to say that most Americans do not even understand this. Most believe that the Iraqis will be choosing replacement for Saddam. Face it, our troops have given their lives for a lie and the people who supported this lie don't even want to know the truth and will never be held accountable.

6. It all depends on what Sistani and the Shiite leaders say

The majority of Shiites have followed the orders of Grand Ayatollah Sistani, and if he accepts the election results then things probably will remain okay. However, I believe the problem will start if Sistani believes he's been shafted by the elections. A couple of months ago one of Sistani's aides hinted that he would consider holy war against the occupation if Shiites don't get power. If that happens then the US occupation is finished.

Having said this, there are increasing rumblings in southern Shiite areas with recent bombings and assassinations. The US and British consulates in Basra were bombed recently which hardly made news.

The Sunni leaders are already boycotting the elections...

I guess maybe "they" do but their people don't.
