US Attorney General isn't just a cabinet position.

Ted Kennedy and other Democrats have said that a president should get deference in his cabinet picks.

Maybe so in the case of Secretary of the Interior.

However, the position of US Attorney General is powerful, and only a candidate with decency should be approved.

If the Senate approves any cabinet nominee, they are not doing the job of "advice and consent" which the Constitution gives them.

Attorney Generals decide whom to prosecute.

Alberto Gonzlales, the Torturer, should not be given more power.

If you have a Democratic Senator, please ask him or her to filibuster against the appointment of Alberto Gonzales.
