I just read the Buzzflach article by James C. Hall entitled I love my country, I hate our president.

He provided a litany of dubya's lies, and among them was this:

lies about his real interests in Africa,

What is this about? This is the first time I've seen any reference to it.

3. For just a guess, that looks pretty likely, Smirky.

I had heard about the interest in West African oil (esp Nigerian? links to deals made over the problems of Liberia?), but no one's talking about your other two points all that much (outside those directly affected, I assume).

The pharma connection will be highlighted at Cancun, probably (one hopes). But I have no hopes of enlightened AIDS and family-planning policies as long as Bush* is squatting in the WH. SO many reasons to want him out ASAP.

And I wonder how involved personally Bush* is in Franklin Graham's Somthing-or-other Purse. This group's been big on trying to get the US to defend and help the Christians in southern Sudan (who indeed have suffered). I wonder if they're in Iraq, missionizing, as there were rumors of some time ago.... SO much mischief (and worse) being done....
