Noonan: "mission inebriation" speech

Amazingly, not a totally positive perspective on Bush inauguration speech from one of those writers who is usually "lovingly" kind about his speeches. Check it out completely at

See, I always thought "reality-based" meant paying attention to objective facts and experienced non-partisan experts.
Reviewing your results on an on-going basis to check your assumptions and tactics.
Changing your plan when the situation changes, or if you are failing.
Not using lies to justify your desired conclusions and/or rash behavior.
Seeing things as they are, not as you hope them to be.
Sorta the opposite of a faith-based approach.

Funny thing, even when I misguidedly (okay, VERY misguidedly) supported * in 1999/2000--even then, I despised that woman, mostly b/c of her cloying manner and her hypnotic voice. She is one of the least persuasive pundits I've ever seen.
