With a $400 BILLION DoD budget, why do our troops still need razors?

Sorry if this is a dupe, but I saw this site on bartcop today and was appalled:

This site is dedicated to connecting volunteers from the military units in the Middle East with folks back home to send care packages and letters to the troops in the field.

I spent most of my day (much to my boss' displeasure, if he knew) reading again and again how these kids who gave up there lives to serve our nation cannot get even the most basic necessities. To read that our soldiers cannot get razors, soap, socks, tampons, even ramen noodles, while our President danced the night away at party after party last Thursday is simply disgusting.

I strongly encourage those who say that they support the troops, even while opposing their idiotic mission in Iraq, to go to this site and help these guys out.

Sorry if this seems like a rant, but seeing this just made me nauseous!

no surprise they can't get razors since they couldn't get armor to protect their vehicles and now, two years later they still don't have the armor they need, or the razors, or meals or the health care they need upon return from an illegal war for oil.

9. If you go to the site you'll find that alot of the posts

ask for stuff they can give to the local people. Toys and candy for the kids, blankets and clothing in general. Most of the guys there just want to help the people. They have to deal with stuff everyday I can't imagine. I was actually amazed at how many list that sort of thing.

Heartbreaking. Did you notice how many people won't eat in the (Halliburton run) cafeteria tents?

I saw a posting from a soldier whose cafeteria was part of the bombing next month, the unit has been living on MRE's ever since. You'd think for $200 billion they would have been able to rebuild the cafeteria by now, but there is oil to steal and profits to make, so the troops eat crap.

Why do our troops have problems getting things like this? Why isn't this administration, who supposedly respects the troops and the military, denying them some of the most basic items?

And, meanwhile, they cut taxes for the rich, spend millions on Haliburton (who overcharges us), and spend $40 million celebrating themselves.

That is why I believe that republicans are so full of shit. They don't care about the troops, they don't care about the Iraqi people, they don't care about a God damned thing.

BTW, AAFES IS in Iraq. Troops buy items every single day there.

AAEFES is in the BAGHDAD AIRPORT and in the GREEN ZONE and there are shoppettes in some camps, but MOST the camps DO NOT have even that.

And too bad about the troops who have no family members to send them razors.

Your "OVERWHELMING SUPPORT" for the troops sure does confirm what I think you are; as in a total waste of time.

And yes, in fact, I DO know of what I speak. When were YOU last in Iraq?
