Mark Dayton: "I really don't like being LIED to!"

WASHINGTON - Sen. Mark Dayton said Tuesday he is voting against Condoleezza Rice for secretary of state as a protest against what he labeled the Bush administration's "lying" on Iraq.

"My vote against this nomination is my statement that this administration's lying must stop now," Dayton said on the Senate floor, a day before the Senate is expected to vote on Rice's nomination....

"I don't like to impugn anyone's integrity, but I really don't like being lied to repeatedly, flagrantly, intentionally," he said. "It's wrong. It's undemocratic, it's un-American, and it's dangerous.

"And it is occurring far too frequently in this administration. And this Congress, this Senate must demand that it stop now."

if he keeps working like this, I'll send him a campaign contribution also. It might help if we donate to our Congress people even if they are from a different state than the donor. It shows them that we consider ALL of them to be our representatives when they are in DC and that we are interested in how they vote.

3. Any senator who votes for Rice is nothing but a Republican doormat

To vote for someone who has lied to the senate and American people on matters that got soldies KILLED is beyond comprehension. It shows a lack of self-respect and integrity not worthy of a democratic senator.

Any democratic senator who votes for Rice should be voted out of our party and replaced with someone who will stand up for themself and stand up for America.

Thank you Sen. Dayton. We all really need to stand up for the Dems standing up for us tomorrow. I guess it just comes down to thanking them for doing their job, and who doesn't ever appreciate that?

I am very proud of the way Dayton stood up today and spoke truth to power. I personally will do all that I can to assure that Dayton retains his seat in 2006 and that the carpetbagger turncoat sycophant that is Norm Coleman is defeated in 2008.

"Doctor" Rice is completely incompetent for the job of Secretary of State. And I know those damn Republinazis are going to try to make a race issue out her appointment.
