In a stand of Unity the bloggers are joining to air their feelings about the Gonzalez Nomination.
See what unity through growth looks like.

Read what one of the largest Hispanic civil rights organizations says to a Hispanic who is opposed to Gonzales, it is very appauling.
Sinverguenza is correct!
Finally something caught your attention! I spoke with Lisa Navarette this afternoon needless to say I'm very disappointed with NCLR (National Council of La Raza) decision as well, shared my concerns specially on immigration issues her response NCLR wants permanent legal status for all immigrants.
Went on to say what is needed is someone like Gonzales to LEAD HIM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.. BUSH ? policies blah...blah..blah... I told her it will never happen it never does!
WENT ON TO SAY..That it is a catch twenty-two every time a HISPANIC gets nominated for a position no one is ever happy how can we keep a HISPANIC in office when right away we want them out!
On the abuse issue she suggested for you to contact your Senators and Reps. I assume you have, Lisa, understand our concerns but a decision was made and NCLR will stand firm on the decision.
<snip> (Other Hispanic issues)
So there you have it. Call or email your Sen. and Reps. like you have been doing give Lisa a call its better for you to pick up the phone.
Anyway, I have to go I'll be out and about early in the a.m. to meet with Mr.. Sparks, hopefully he can answer some question that's if we don't get escorted out!!
Sorry, I did not answer sooner full schedule these days.

My response
A catch 22, that is very sad. So basicly NCLR will support any Hispanic just because they are Hispanic and it does not matter how much they decide to white wash themselves. Funny how the African-American community can rally against any "Uncle Tom" and yet, our organizations refuse to do the same. No wonder why we are forgotten when people talk about racism in this country. As long as organizations like NCLR continue to kiss ass to the Bush type gringos, they will continue to validate the "Si Senor," negative sterotype. When will this maddness stop?
I know there are some or a lot of progressive people here who probabably feel the same way as the our Congressional Dems about Gonzales and the Hispanic issue when openly voicing your concern and opinion; which are feelings of concern about Gonzales and not wanting to be attacked by some Hispanics. That is why I am writing this post.
I would like to assure you:
THIS NOT A HISPANIC ISSUE BUT A HUMAN ISSUE.
