What is more important, winning the White House or the House of Reps?
of course, a clean sweep of all would be great. What have we gained if we win the White House but still do not control the Congress?

1. We have to win one of the houses of congress.
The Senate would be easier.

2. Personally, I'd take the House if the choice was between the 2
branches.

Here's why. If we only take the Presidency, I can see the Republicans blaming the guy in office for all the problems. We won't get progressive legislation passed and we won't get investigations into this administration.

Much better to get a Democratic Congress driving the agenda and forcing Bush to play defense...

11. Taking back congress.
We were better off having subpoena power. Laws were far more progressive and it forced Reagan and Bush to act illegally to fund their disruptions of other economies.

12. White House
they are revamping laws in the agencies for the benefit of their donors. The only way to fight that is through the courts - and they are stacking the courts.

13. I'll work on one of them for us....
I'll help bring back the house (with 6-10 new freshman Reps), Dean/Kerry/DK/Edwards will help get the WH (with Clark as VP).

All we need then is the Senate. Ummmm, Senator Chafee? Shake my hand, Mr. Independent!

14. Absolutely the white house.
It's an entire branch of the government. Think of the executive orders and regulations or lack thereof. Think about the attorney general. Think about court appointments.
