Idiots such as Rush and Hannity are claiming that the Senate Dems are racist for questioning Rice and others, but I think it's a matter of the right using old tactics and thought.

Not long ago, when real racists(mostly Republicans) fought to keep minorities out of better jobs, it was us Dems that fought for their rights. Just as the right is trying to do now. I think the difference is in how we all perceive minorities. The Repulicans still view people of color as a minority, while the Dems see them as equals. As a matter of fact, we have always seen them as equal. It's just been in the past twenty years or so that we've seen them as people without color.

This is exactly why we have no problem criticizing them. We don't see them as minorities. We see them as our peers who are not above being scrutinized and questioned.

It's those on the right that still want to put labels on these people. My thought is that the Dems are past all of that. We have always felt that ANYONE who deserved it should be given the same opportunity.

Dems will fight for those that are being discriminated against, but once you make it to the top you're just as responsible as anyone else, and your color no longer matters.

That McNabb statement was so off the wall. It comes from no statistic other than Rush only seeing a successful, QB and feeling he has to diminish him some way. So, out comes the big bad liberal media. The question is why did Rush have to say this? Only one reason. That's the difference. Rice and Gonzales are ripped for policy, McNabb is ripped because of skin. But all they see are Rice and Gonzales in skin, ala McNabb, and think race must be involved. They just make it up. Am I making sense?

8. The most telling aspect of all this

Is that Republicans won't even mention their qualities with regards to their positions. They list Dr. Rice's achievements, which I admit are impressive. But none of that is relevant to her being SOS.

Why is someone with a record of failure as NSA and with such arrogance and unwillingness to compromise being appointed to the office of top diplomat?

But Republicans don't debate any of this. They just revert to gender and race.
