How many journalist are on the take from big corporations & not disclosing

I think this is just as equally bad as taking federal funds and not disclosing. I know most might initially think that since it involves private money then who cares. But, we all know that corporations pass all costs on to the consumers, so we are pretty much paying to be propagandized whether its private or government sponsored. I feel I should know if a review article or news story on Microsoft or Apple or any other good, services or product is an independent piece and not something manufactured and paid for by a PR firm and presented as something its not.... I appreciate your thoughts.

All the "news" magazines take advertising. How likely are they to run a critical article about their major advertisers' businesses?

are funded by corporations, then the think tanks dole out the money to the pundits who coincidently spread the word for the corporations interests. Speaking fees are more direct though.
Tort reform - social security - health care for the rich - etc.

misrepresented, scorned, or ignored. Not necessarily because of the money involved, but because people who criticize the status quo don't tend to make it into the main stream media.

Articles about products are a different story. It wouldn't surprise me if journalists take bribes to give good reviews to those who bribe them. I think, though, that it would be a sad day indeed when "journalistic integrity" extends only to whether or not journalists take bribes to advertise products.

are on the government dole. Mention Rush, O'Reilly, Scarborough, and Miller.


Microsoft was paying professors to promote their products. They would get $200 for mentioning MS products in class. they also use enticements to university buyers to buy their products and exclude others. Apple has a different business ethic, and the columnist that deal with Apple products are an ornery bunch.

11. I think you are very right. Journalists shouldn't be taking

bribes whether from the government or from corporations. Yet, I know many of them do take money to write articles in favor of corporations as if their product was the best, and they were being unbiased in their opinion. As far as I am concerned if you can't call it dishonest, at least call it sleazy.

I really hate it when they do it for health industry. They write articles about how bad the government health system is in Europe or Canada or other places and it's really all propaganda and lies, but they are being paid off by the for profit health industry here in the good old USA. This is downright immoral.
